How to Help an Aging Parent
It is never easy to know when is the right time to help an aging parent. Sometimes a parent’s needs appear suddenly, without warning. Other times, there may be a gradual realization that things are just “not right.” Taking on the unfamiliar and often uncomfortable role as a parent’s caregiver can add anxiety, stress and grief.
I understand the worry and strain that emerge from this new and uncomfortable situation. What you may be feeling is completely normal and I will work with you to understand and cope with those emotions. I can also help you work through the process of communicating with your aging parent about potential changes in their life and situation.
Taking care of an aging parent can make you feel isolated, overwhelmed with emotion and fear. You need support from someone who understands what you are going through and who can help you navigate through this challenging time.
